Basic Training CourseTuesday, March 27, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM (CST) More Information →
Our basic training course is designed for all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner who wants to start from the ground up or an experienced quilter looking to relearn forgotten skills. We have set this course up so you can choose whether you want to master one skill or the entire series. If you choose to take the entire course then all of the supplies needed are included in your fee. If you choose to take just one of the classes then you may need to bring some things (a piece you wish to bind or quilt for example). Regardless of your choice you are free to use our sewing machines, cutters, mats, thread, and so on.
Week 1 - CUT:
In this class you will learn the basics of using a rotary cutter and mat. Having this skill will allow your future projects to move along quickly and with more accuracy.
Week 2 - SEW:
In this portion of the basic training series you will be learning how to precision piece. We will go over the common obstacles that get in the way and what to do when they arise. This skill will definitely help your final outcome of any project to look more professional.
Week 3 - QUILT:
In the third week we will be teaching you the basics of machine quilting in a modern straight line style. This is a great technique to learn, especially if you are new to quilting.
Week 4 - BIND:
In the final class of this series you will learn different methods of binding. This is a very important skill to have when it comes to finishing any quilt.
What should I bring to the class?
Your event fee covers all materials needed for the project unless otherwise noted. Consider bringing scissors and an iron if you would like to have your own. We have mini ironing boards ready for this class.
